Med Waste Application Coverage
On July 3, 2025, Harvest Med Waste Disposal submitted an application to operate a medical waste processing facility in Remlap, at the southern tip of Blount County. On Oct. 2, Commissioners denied the application in a unanimous vote. (Article and photos will be posted later today.)
Harvest CEO David Dyer’s promises of clean tech, jobs, and philanthrophy faced fierce opposition that centered around the risks of processing biohazardous and infectious waste feet away from Gurley Creek, as documented below.
